2. alt-print screen
and then you can paste it into a window in "paint"

..or at least, that's how *I* do it.

3. hit 'printscreen' button

usually next to F12
then open microsoft paint or any other imaging program and hold down 'ctrl' and press 'v' (ctrl+v = paste). image should appear. save it if you want to keep it.

Or alt-"print" to just capture the active window.

Then paste into the application of your choice with ctrl-v .

6. There's a great little freeware enhancement called Gadwin
Works great- uses very little memory.

7. Download this program
It allows you to choose how much you want to grab and what keys you want to use to grab with -- http://www.screenprint32.com.

It even allows you to send a screen capture directly to a printer.

9. Alt-Print Screen usually works. However, if you have a Microsoft keyboard
that has alternate functions for the F keys, you'll need to turn off the Function lock before it'll work.

As others have mentioned, Alt-Print Screen, then just paste into Word, Paint, etc.
