1. My cats would kill in my sleep if I did that to them
She is adorable

but such would be a death sentence in my house.

9. This is the only one of the three I can dress
The other two would put up too much of a fight. Cleo is very tolerant. It's fun to put harness and leash on her, just a slight tug makes her go completely limp. I could sweep the floor with her, if I wasn't so nice.

17. I've tried to dress mine up for halloween and met with resistance
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 10:42 PM by Solly Mack
later, they both pooped in my shoes.

It took a few years but my cats finally taught me that I live in their house and that I'm the pet.

My dogs, however, still believe I'm the big dog...at least they let me think so anyway.

3. Mahvelous!
Last Christmas was the first empty nest Christmas for us - boys all grown up and far away....
So, we entertained ourselves putting santa hats and reindeer antlers on the dog and cat.
I have to say, neither one was a bit impressed with the experience.

4. If your animals could talk...
They'd be cursing at you. That's cruel and unusual punishment.

11. Merlin fights the battle of the bulge and does not look very good in
anything but his everyday black. Plus, would you want to attempt it?? ;)

13. Not if Merlin is anything like Lucy.
You can catch him in the pet gallery; two of a kind.

I like my skin the way it is. I like all my digits attached. I would not presume to even suggest that he should wear clothing.

15. Wow, you ain't kidding. Long lost brothers even.
Merlin weighs about 28 pounds now, and I am not about to try to squeeze his chubby, irate fanny into a pair of jeans. ;)

18. Well, Merlin outweighs Lucy.
Lucy's only about 15 lbs. A lightweight. :eyes:

His paws are quite small and dainty. They concentrate all of those pounds into 4 tiny little points. It's painful when he climbs aboard and stands on my chest, staring me in the face to let me know that it is time to get up.

He comes and goes through a small, cat-sized custom "pet door" installed in my office window. It is about 4 1/2 feet off of the ground. There is a narrow ledge outside the window, and my desk under the window on the inside. On Monday he woke me up at 4am. On the floor by the desk was a dead rabbit. A full sized rabbit. A heavy rabbit. (From the field I live next door to.) How he manage to leap 4 1/2 feet up to a narrow ledge with that dead weight, and stuff it/drag it through the little kitty door, I have no idea. Some of those 15 lbs must still be muscle.

Lucy is a reformed "stray." He was about 4 years old when I began civilizing him.

20. Merlin has the tiny paws too. They kind of look ridiculous on him.
Merlin was an alley kitten that my father in law picked up at work and gave to us. If there is food on a narrow ledge, Merlin will manage it. ;)

12. Any cat I have ever owned
would claw out one of my eyeballs if I ever degraded them by dressing them like that.

16. Here's what would happen at my house,
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 10:32 PM by No2W2004
I show my dog his new sweater

My dog looks at me as if I am on crack

He grabs it from me and takes it to the back yard, where he buries it.

Dog comes back in, barks at me, and hits me in the nose with his paw.

He is content to be my foot-warmer, but clothes are out!
