So, I saw "Monster" last night
One thing has really aroused my curiosity. The first guy she kills was an obvious nutcase, possibly even a serial killer himslef, now despite the poetic justice of a serial killer being killed BY a serial killer. What interests me on that is, if it wasn't just part of the movie, who was the guy and was he ever charged with or suspected of being a serial killer.

Anyone know anything about this?

Go to www.crimelibrary.com and look up Aileen Wuornos. It is a great source of info.

2. I just saw it...this site has tons of info
http://www.clarkprosecutor.org/html/death/US/wuornos805.htm

The first victim was just a sleazeball. Not all of the others were, though. I think the film was great, and Charlize Theron did a pretty amazing job, but I have a slight feeling that it's a little on the apologist side. Maybe a harsher view of her would be inaccurate, but I think the film was a little too kind to someone who -- absolutely horrible background notwithstanding -- was a scummy serial killer by any other name. She also apparently recanted her initial claims that she acted in self defense and stated repeatedly that she acted in cold blood, killing for money.

3. Here's another one
http://www.ccadp.org/aileenwuornos.htm

And check this out:

The following site is also interesting and has the only picture I've seen of Aileen's girlfriend (name changed for the movie), who apparently -- unlike the movie -- by contrast made Aileen look like...well...Charlize Theron:
