Jaysus Crist! Why don't we have FUN anymore! Where is there FUN!
Where can you go to "let Go" and "Unwind?" Sniping and Carping and Gloom and Doom are everywhere!

I wish I could go back to when "Smoking and Drinking, and some light recreational drugs" were all we worried about!

Maybe it's Ray Charles death that has me "freakin' out" (that phrase immediately dates me) but what the F**k (another date from use of asterisks) but we live in such a DARK, GLOOMY AMERICA! When do we get a break from working hard to overthrow this "Rogue Government" and cleaning up the Nixon Legacy and the "Dark Side of America."

Where is the fun? Where does one go to find FUN? Dance...SING YOUR HEART OUT...Drink all night, Smoke all night...or just observe...but why not FUN! I miss when WE/I used to have FUN...and I don't put watching Jon Stewart into the category of fun...but that's what we've been reduced to by these Neo-Con Religious Fanatics and Falwell Followers.

Please ...fun....WHERE?

(LoveYa, Ray) my fun was in your time....and it was GREAT FUN!

1. oh I didn't know he had died!
awww. Well I did see Patti Smith last night and she was fun and inspiring. Hope that helps a little. There are some of us who still like to have fun. As Dr. Suess said, "It is fun to have fun, but you have to know how."

:)

5. We need to work on this... It's not Healthy what we are going through, but
it could be a "generational thang" that it's only marketed segments of our society who are missing the FUN.

The responses to my post make me believe that either "Fun" isn't a word folks can understand or it's "intimidating" to folks.

 I don't know....I just know that there were some "good times" during Poppy/Reagan/Carter/Nixon and particularly during Johnson. And my WWII Parents and their friends REALLY knew how to have a "Good Time."

So there's something different about these times...I don't know what it is..but I'm missing it...

6. No kidding!!!!
Hey, KoKo01, I'm glad to know it's not just ME.

I take into account my age, my tremendous and challenging family obligations and general responsibilities, but still feel there *should* be more fun than I'm having.

There are so many dreadful things going on thanks to BushCo, and I feel deeply concerned about them. Sometimes, though, I think, "Maybe it's just me. Maybe things aren't as bad as I think." But they are!!!

It's a very difficult time, for anyone who is paying attention, to feel carefree and relaxed.

On a lighter note, when was the last time you went to a party with dancing? (I miss dancing....:( )

why can't we remember the last time we "cut loose" and had fun? I don't know...I wish I knew..

But...I want to find that fun..to keep me "Moving On" and to cope.

10. Well...
If you visit Minnesota, I'll throw you a dance party! Minnesotans are a pretty cautious bunch, though, so I think we'll have to be the first ones on the dance floor.

8. I found "fun" tonight
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 09:13 PM by Rowdyboy
I met two of my best friends from college (30 years ago) at a local bar and we drank plentiful amounts of the house "home-brew" (damn, its good).. We told jokes and made plans for Saturday night.

Saturday, everyone is coming to my house for "mood alteration". Then to a Mexican restaurant, then back to my house, then we're going out to watch "wrasslin'". I know its ridiculous but none of us are serious. We're going to "gawk" and (since I don't have to drive far), it sounds flawless to me!

BTW, I hear Reagan is still dead.

11. Even worse, Koko, central Mississippi!
But I'm sure you can find a "sympathy Mexican restaurant" in your area to have a Marguerita in my honor....
