Poll question: So tonight when I picked up my tips... |
|
...my boss gave me my little cup with all my evening's tips in it (I'm a waiter again), giggling because there was also a little note inside one of the bills that said "Call me, (a name)" and a phone number! :D
This is where it gets interesting, because we all put our heads together after work and have no freakin' idea which one she was (it was busy tonight).
So the question: Call it?

Maybe I should get a job waiting tables. I wonder if I'd get any notes?!

...although last time I was waiting tables for any length of time, I had that big ol' ring there on my hand. I've only been back at the restaurant a month. :)

4. What kind of a restaurant do you work at? |
|
Where you don't get your money the day of? That's crazy. Please explain that to me. It sounds weird. Duckie

We kept all of our sales and tips with us and just paid the restaurant at the end of the night what they were owed. You guyd don't do that? Duckie

9. Well, for one thing we don't run the register... |
|
...we just shuttle tickets and cash or credit cards from table to hostess, which is usually the chef's wife. At the end of the night, she pays us out.

Make him/her come begging for it.
Seriously, though, anyone who would do that without you having a clue as to who they are either (a)puts too much emphasis on his/herself and assumes you noticed him/her above everyone there, even if you were busy, or (b)knows you were too busy to notice individuals and likes the idea of bumfuzzling you.
This suggests that they're going to always want the upper hand, so if that's your cup of tea, call them. If not, don't do it.

(c) maybe they just don't know how the restaurant works, and assumed the person serving them would pick up the tip shortly after they had left the table.

...unless there had been some sort of significant gazing or remark making between them, it still seems a bit egotistical to assume that he would remember the customer. Hence, trouble ahead, imo.
