5. Embarrassing
You people are out of your minds. Disagree with Reagan and his policies, but, damn, this is sick, even by DU standards.

7. Ugh!
That is the kind of thing to be expected from fans of Michael Savage, Limbaugh and Hannity when Carter or Clinton dies. When that day does come for those two men, a lot of people will have grounds
to call many here hypocrites for expressing outrage.

We had 15 years after he left office to attack his policies, and there will be infinite time to do so in the future. We can respect the mourning process for a few days before going back to debating the legacy of his troubling policies.

17. I've gotten too old.
I remember when FDR died, and there was a wave of sadness from all sides of the political arena. FDR was not loved by all, by by damn, everyone respected his abilities to lead and unite us during a time of crisis. This was during World War Two. Yes, FDR had his enemies, but I never saw anything like what I just saw with that picture.
I remember when Eisenhower died, and the same thing occurred. There was respect shown from both sides of the aisle.
When Kennedy died, the entire country stopped for over a week. both friend and foe stopped and paid homage to the man.
Even when Nixon died, I never saw such disrespect, and Lord knows, if there was anyone who deserved it, it would have been him.

I don't post much, mostly because I am uncomfortable with computers. That, and the fact that this is a young man's board and I'm very much afraid to say the wrong thing here. Lord, I need my son's help with the VCR still. But one thing I need no help with is knowing right from wrong, and that was very wrong.
Can you argue with his policies? Yes, you can. After he fired the air traffic controllers, he was no friend of the unions. But what I saw wasn't a disagreement with his policies, it looked like outright unreasoning hatred.
This is what scares me about my beloved Democratic party, the Party of the people. I am seeing much too much hatred, and I mean blind unreasoning hatred from it. I fear that the working man's party, the party of FDR, has gone the way of the man himself. And, when I see posts like that, I'm afraid I no longer have a place in it as well.

My son is a Republican, and despite that, I love him very much. We are able to have reasoned and wonderful debates about politics. I'll never be able to convince him to switch to my side, any more that he can convince me to switch to his, but I enjoy the debating because whatever our disagreements, it never gets personal, and never gets ugly. What I saw here; that was ugly.

I fear I've gotten too old for the Democratic Party.
