"Alice in Chains" - Anyone else miss this group? |
|
Out of all the 90's era groups, I liked these guys the best. Layne Staley's alternating harmonies with cacophony was sheer genius in my opinion. Albums like "Dirt" and "Jar of Flies" are still standard fare in my CD changer - and seem to never grow old.
Anyone else out there love this band?

I lived in Seattle in the late 80's/early 90's when they were in their prime, and the music there was at its best. Great times.
"Dirt" is my favorite, if for nothing else Tom Arrayo of Slayer is a guest.

"Dirt" and "Down in a Hole" are my favorite songs from the album.

i envy you ZW, and anyone else who got to see them as they evolved.

though I haven't listened to them in awhile. The Unplugged CD was pretty much in my player for about a month straight the summer it was released.

3. In my mid-20's they were a staple on the jukebox |
|
at the bar where my buddy and I drank every night.
It's funny, when I hear one of their songs now I can actually taste Vodka Collins... Sort of an Alcoholic/Pavlovian response.

That one makes it onto my playlist at least once a week, no matter what I'm listening to at the time.

I still can't get over Staley's death after reading a harrowing account of the last few months of his life.
Jerry Cantrell is also a very talented musician, but I haven't kept up with what he's doing. Does anybody know?
