3. To venture even further off topic....

The military spending after the fall of the USSR never dropped. Noam Chomsky points this out constantly. I only got political over a decade after the fall of the wall, and even under the current "Brown People Are Going to Kill America" frenzy I think our Pentagon budget is out of control.

I think this War on Terror was a dual pander to the M/I complex and the political agendas of people who do not know how to do anything but make war.
