5. It seems more fitting for the lounge....
I mean hey, I'm sure I can find an article on something that just happened, like somebody stubbing their toe, but is it really LBN material?

8. It's news when you win the world championship..??
LBN doesn't just have to be about politics. It can even be about earthquakes.

28. The *Pistons* beat the *Lakers*, and that makes it news IMHO :-)
Not only did the Pistons beat the Lakers, they farking STOMPED the Lakers. No one saw it coming except for a few Rasheed Wallace fans ;-)

Now if it had just been another Lakers victory, we'd shrug and move along like every other damn year...

I heard that. No dissing the team with the best record in baseball. A hint...it AIN'T Anaheim.

As for the NBA finals, I predicted (to my husband, but it COUNTS) that the Lakers would lose. He laughed at the time, but now he is laughing out the other side of his...well you get the picture. I hate the Lakers. So glad they lost.

10. Well, I can almost hear the cheering from the Palace ...
... as I sit here about 10 miles to the south. I'm hoping nobody gets injured or killed tonight -- since "celebrations" around hereabouts can get a bit rowdy.

It's been a loong time since I've seen a professional basketball team hustle and work together as well as the Pistons did in this series. They sure made the Lakers look like a disjointed of spoiled "celebrities" - individuals, not much of a "team."

13. LA played like shit the whole series except for
the last couple of minutes of game 2 and the overtime period.

LA pretty much sucked against Detroit. It was weird. I think they sorta thought they had it in the bag and never got mentally prepared for a team that might actually be able to beat them

16. The Lakers weren't physically able
to compete with the Pistons. And not just because of Malone's injury.

Everything is fine. The people are partying, and a few fireworks went off. However. that stereotype is over and done with. When the Wings won those cups, everything went well. From what I can see, it's OK and a very normal, exstatic crowd is in the streets.

Yes, this area has a lot of issues to deal with, mostly caused by a legislature controlled by Goopers, but the days of bad press are getting old.

I would expect a lot of DUI's, and some DAD's, but that's it.

ENOUGH ALREADY!

20. Fear the Fro
Coach Brown had the players doing "the right thing". Kerry didn't have a chance to beat the spoiled incombent. Just do "the right(correct) thing" until Novemeber and the nation will feal like Detroit does tonight. GO PISTONS, GO KERRY.

33. Congratulations to Piston and Lightning owner Bill Davidson.
First owner of a major sports franchise to win titles in two separate sports in the same year. He is also the owner of the Detroit Shock WNBA champions.
