Man Threw Poisonous Snake Into Crowded Bar

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho -- An Idaho man has been charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly throwing a rattlesnake into a crowded bar.

Police say he walked into an Idaho Falls bar on Monday, pulled a three-and-a-half-foot-long rattler from his pocket and threw it into a crowd.

some populations of s pacific rattlesnake are strongly neurotoxic. as are some populations of cottonmouth in SE S Carolina & coastal Georgia.
Pygmy Rattlesnake venom also has a neurotoxic component but the dose is so small as to be negligible.

About 20 yrs ago we had an individual get kicked out of a bar. He went to his truck and pulled out his snake tongs and grabbed a 5 1/2ft Diamondback. He then proceeded to clear out the bar of all patrons. When we arrived he was quietly sitting at the bar having a beer and watching his snake crawl around on the dance floor.

I was playing golf with a buddy at Torrey Pines (San Diego). He thought it was hilarious to drape a dead rattlesnake across my chipper. After I putted in the hole, I automatically turned behind me and bent down to pick-up the chipper and "Hello! - Almost picked up da dead rattler- In fact, my face was only about 2 feet from that dead snake. That practical joke almost made me "stroke out" in my early 30s, i.e., I could feel the adrenalin rush up to my head - fright reaction. Very real and weird experience.
