What skills do you wish you had?
Similar to what would you change about your body, what do you wish you could do that you can't?

I wish I could sing, play guitar, and dance. Of course if Steven Tyler has taught us anything it is that you don't really have to be able to dance if you can sing.

Also some hand eye coordination would be great.

1. To write.
I have these sometimes delusional fantasies that there's a writer inside me. Seriously. I marvel at people who can express themselves through writing.

6. terrya, you need this book...
at minimum, check out Amazon's review and the reader comments. It is one of the best books available for people who feel that they have "a writer inside them." Because if you think you have a writer inside of you, you probably do.

Continue to marvel at people who can express themselves through writing. Allow others to marvel at you.

A similar book with a more "Zen" approach is Natalie Goldberg's "Wild Mind." EXCELLENT.

Thank you for the nice, encouraging words!
And for the book recommendation. I know one thing about my interest in writing. I have to try.

Thank you.

4. A knack for languages
Can't speak a word of French even though I studied it for 3 years. I have a minor in German, but can't speak it. Not exactly great for my future profession-international relations/government.

8. You could with the right guidance
If you don't have the time to take a night course (best option) you could try this book:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0874774195/qid=1087405529/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/002-5225212-7756050?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

It's almost identical to what we covered during my drawing course...

Because I can already Juggle 7.

13. I wish I could sing.
Edited on Wed Jun-16-04 12:53 PM by notmyprez
I can't even find the first note, nevermind carry a tune anywhere. Also wished I knew how to play guitar or piano, just never had the time or strong enough desire, to take lessons.

Edited to add: It would be nice to be able to draw too. :-)

14. I wish I could play piano
It surely would come in handy now that I'm singing in a chorus. I have to learn all the music by ear, since I can't sight-read music and have no way to play the songs for myself to learn them beforehand. I can't audition for any of the solos, because I never learn them before I hear them for the first time - when other people are auditioning!

Besides, I think it would be very calming to be able to make music. I've always wanted to have real musical talent. I can carry a tune, but that's about it.
