Man Lay Dead In His Driveway For 4 Days - Pinned Under Van
<snip>

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- A man who apparently was pinned by a van he was working on lay dead in his driveway for up to four days before a neighbor noticed him, police said.

Allan P. Burfoot, 57, of Shepherdstown, was found Sunday morning, State Police Trooper H.D. Heil said.

"The parking brake wasn't on and the vehicle wasn't in gear, and it apparently rolled onto him" as he worked on the vehicle, Heil said. He was pinned under the front passenger side tire, he said.

1. GAWD!
How sad is that! I promise to be more vigilant if not more neighborly. Sigh. Reminds me of a story told by an elderly woman I met. She was working in her front yard when she fell and couldn't get up. She was lying on the sidewalk trying to flag down cars, and people would just wave and go on.

2. This Happens A Lot
People working on cars astonish me with the risks they take. I would never get under a car held up by a jack. But people do it. When the jack slips, they get crushed.

Underpants you should be ashamed of yourself!

Is it any wonder you're seemingly always gassed-up and your jokes fall flat. :P
