28. I joined a few weeks after 9-11.

That was when most of the posts in the Lounge and GD still had things like 'OhgodohgodohgodohGOD!' in the subject line.

DU goes back to the day the Chimp slithered into Al Gore's office in Jan. 2001. I started lurking here in March or April of that year, and finally joined when the post-9-11 B*shworship just got to be too much.

29. I saw the light kinda late

but better late than never. I never heard of DU until this year when I searched for Dean-Democratic nominee and a link popped up. I wasn't big on politics until Dean made his bid for the presidency and now I can't get enough of politics and the like.

I used to hide my light under a bushel. When people would ask me if I was a liberal, I'd say "No man, not me. I'm a......a.......a moderate, yeah that's right."

Not any more. After Selection 2000, I decided to say it loud and say it proud: "I'm a Liberal!!!!"

The 2000 selection had me fired up but after the selection process was over and until 9-11 I guess I was just fed up with the process so I didn't really pay that much attention.

But
I was in my last semester of college in a journalism class and I said during a discussion that if Shrub is selected we will go to war! This is a no-brainer but everyone in the class was like no, no, that's not gonna happen.

I'm not very happy that my 'prediction' came true but at least I was right that shrub would be just as bad if not worse than his poppa.
