|
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Guess where I'll be at 2:00 on Friday? The Arclight Theater in Hollywood has more than DOUBLED the number of screenings since just a couple days ago and two of them are already sold out!! Moore is going to set some records!

6. You could have gone to a matinee at the Arclight for only $11 |
|
and you would have a pre-assigned (DECENT) seat and no waiting in line!!
I love the Arclight, but I can only afford the matinee, and that's WITHOUT the popcorn and huge drink :-) I have to eat before I go.
Beats fighting the crowd or sitting in the front row.

3. I'm hoping to make the 8 show in North Hollywood |
|
but my friend who's ordering the tickets has been having problems ordering and I'm PRAYING it's not sold out. If so, I don't care where I have to go, I'm seeing it on opening night.

4. I got mine on-line and am taking the majority of my class... |
|
They initiated the class 'field trip', so I asked if there were any objections to doing it as a class trip/discussion afterward. I had no dissenting voices, so scheduled the 'field trip' for Friday evening. There will be 9 students and me, watching this film together, and then having coffee afterward, discussing it. I am very proud of my students, they have shown tremendous initiative by doing this. The times, the are a'changin'! These are very bright people, all juniors and seniors, and they are concerned about the current social climate in this society. I am just thrilled! OK, I'll shut up now (Rant off!) :yourock: Students!

And they exist within the context of one of the most RW areas in Texas, which makes them even more courageous.

9. So what is the name of the class you teach? |
|
I'm a marketing professional with a poli sci/history undergrad and I would love to leave the business world and teach poli sci to either high school students or first or second year college students.
Do you love your job? Or am I being too "grass is greener?"

10. I love what I do with my entire soul... |
|
Not being trite or facetious. I am a sociologist and am currently teaching a Social Problems course. The students are all juniors or seniors and very mature, in fact, much more so than I was when their age. If you are in marketing, then you clearly have good communication skils, so teaching would not present a challenge insofar as getting up in front of a bunch of unfamiliar people. The most important thing about teaching is to recognize and accept that, even though you are the instructor, you cannot and do not know everything. The students will appreciate your insights more if you try to facilitate, rather than 'teach', at least that has been successful for me. Try it and see if it is for you (the pay and bennies kinda stink, but I didn't get into it to make a bundle either).
