Would I be better off if Gore was President? |
|
I have no question that this country would be much better off under Gore. With the things that have happened to me in the last year and a half, I wonder if I would be better off now.
I lost my student teaching assignment. I believe that would have happened regardless. I have had a really hard time finding a job since. I have practically given up on that. I held two jobs that I was fired from. One of them they cited an attitude issue. Though both of these jobs involved solicitation. One was mortgages, the other was fundraising. But, I find myself wondering if this is all me or if the economy has been a big part of my woes and I would be better off if Gore was President and we were under a good economy. I hope this does not sound selfish. Just been doing some reflection and self-analysis as to my situation.

6. I know. Many are hurting. |

I just keep on wondering if even then, my character flaws would have destroyed me. Honest question.

5. You aren't alone with employment difficulties.... |
|
Would we have better of with Gore? We would have been better if we had a President who would have kept the neocons in check. To me the economy is relatively a minor issue compared to the lives of the Iraqi civilians and US soldiers. The Repugs are vicous, and it is possible that Al Gore could have been kicked out in his second term and replaced with a neocon in 2004. Regardless of what might have happened, I spend my time pondering how we can be rid of the neocons going forward....

When I heard that he wanted to go to war with Iraq, all I could think was how unethical it was and that we shouldn't do it. This is an even bigger disaster than I thought.
One thing you are right about is that Gore getting into the WH may have only delayed the neocon agenda 4 or 8 years and then we would have to deal with all this shit anyways.

7. I think my situation would be exactly the same if Gore were president. |
|
That is not, however, to say that I wouldn't have preferred a Gore White House!

10. I'm a delivery driver for a drugstore in the Hartford, CT area. |

I make $10.50 an hour, and have worked there since September 1999.
And to reiterate: I've no reason to believe that my situation would be inherently different with Al Gore in the White House.

11. Dude, you have alot of depressing posts |
|
Maybe this is not the best place for 'reflection & self-analysis'.
No disrespect, but maybe you should look into getting some real help, faceless folks on the 'net can only do so much for you.
Judging from some previous posts & would say that the answers to some of the problems you've been going thru may be found closer to home than the white house.
Please look into getting some help & support locally, you will be glad you did.
Best of luck
