What do you guys think of C2? (The new low carb coke)
Edited on Thu Jun-24-04 12:47 AM by noahmijo
I just tried it today. Of course not tasty as regular coke, but a good attempt at creating sort of a "healthy" kind of coke that doesn't taste nearly as bland as diet coke. When you first sip it it actually feels and tastes like real coke, but as it goes down you get that "I just swallowed some sort of nutrasweet" feeling.

I don't think I'll be switching to it, but who knows if I start gaining some weight and I can tell it's not from lifting then maybe...

What is this and the carb craze. They also want a "low carb" potatoe. Give me a break, if you want to eat these foods, then be willing to pay the price. This is just marketing nonsense, of we can offer you an easy and simple solution for all your problems...

P.S. "Potatoe" is spelled the same as ala "moran"..

7. WTF is with Diet Coke's foam?
I've never seen a similar head on any other diet pops. They bubble the same as their non-diet counterparts. It's almost like the foam on beer.

14. I actually know the answer to this one
I asked a commercial chemist this one. It has something to do with saccharin vs. Nutrasweet and sucralose. Don't ask me more than that, 'cuz I didn't understand the rest.

ACtually, I usually drink Diet Dr. Pepper. It doesn't taste like Dr. Pepper, but it it doesn't taste like artificial sweetner, either.

5. I was buying pop yesterday and saw it
I'm not buying. Why should I settle for 8 cans when the same money will get me 12 cans of diet coke, or better yet diet sprite

6. Stupid. Imagine if the soda industry did THIS:
Instead of crap like C2, with half as much fattening, tooth-rotting sugar, but aspartame to make up the diffference, why not come up with some soda flavors like orange, various fruits, with half as much sugar, but WITHOUT the aspartame! In other words, HALF AS SWEET! What a novel idea! ALL the sodas today are sickeningly syrupy gooey sweet. I like to mix one part orange soda with one part seltzer water - and it's just right, just sweet enough and refreshing enough, without being cloying.

Am I the only one out here who would LOVE such a drink?

10. The first person to send me a case of European Fanta
wins some kind of prize, I can't think of it just now. But it will be a good one!

The first time I drank it back here, I thought my teeth were going to fall out right then and there.:scared:

26. Could be because...
They use corn syrup as the main sweetener here and they use sugar as the sweetener in Europe...

25. there even is a new "half as sweet" European Fanta
Which tastes pretty good - if you ask me, it's an attempt to go after Orangina.
Less sugar, no artifical sweeteners, less calories:

9. Alright alright I'll switch to regular dammit

Jeez, anyways I'm NOT into that low carb craze, I bought ONE small bottle of C2 at Albertson's today just to see for fun how close to real coke it tasted, and all I'm saying is it's probably one of the best fakers I've had on the market.

But since you guys are all against it now I have to go back to regular where I will gain 300 lbs and guess what I'm gettin that same lawyer that sued Mickey D's and I'm going after you guys for bullying me into drinking the real stuff.

See you in court!

11. I didn't mean to bash it too hard
But remember that it isn't really a faker. It still has plenty of calories. Compare it with diet pop. It is more expensive and has what like 60 times as many calories. Doesn't seem so great.

12. There's always tea...
Coke is addictive crap.

Not that I'm in any position to talk, I'm addicted to the diet stuff...

Can't drink regular sodas - I hate the sugar rush.

16. Actually Iced Tea is my primary drink
I always have a pitcher in the fridge, and whenever I eat out it's what I always order as beverage.

I haven't touched a soda in 6 months now (not including the ONE C2 that I just drank today) and believe me it's like a crack addict being away from it for awhile.

As someone who's lost over 60 pounds via low-carb, this just gives low-carb a bad name. Diet Rite is the perfect no carb, no caffeine, no aspartame soda. It even tastes good.

Pop should be a treat once in a while not a substitute for good water.

23. lame
my roommate brought some home. he said "hey look, have you tried this? it's coke with only half the sugar, it tastes great" so being skeptical i check the back and see it has aspartame in it :eyes:

i think it might actually be interesting if they used real sugar and halved it. i think it might taste okay! instead they use crummy aspartame.
