Poll question: Speed-bumps: Love em or Hate em?
How do you feel about speed-bumps?

FOLLOWUP QUESTION: Do you hate it when people creep over speed-bumps a granny could take at full speed in a wheelchair?

1. One think that irks me while driving more than anything else...
When you come upon a wimpy speed-bump and have a SUV or truck in front of you that goes over it so slow you'd think that their rear axle was made out of glass or something. I drive a GEO Metro and I take most speed-bumps at at least half speed.

3. Praise be sister!
I also own a GEO Metro and experience the exact same thing. Why did they bother to buy the damn thing? I've seen the same reaction with them and puddles.

6. Exactly
And the most irritating is when they are 4 wheel drive SUVs and Trucks gimping over a shallow speed-bump. Did you buy a multi-purpose vehicle or not?

12. In defense of
the truck, you don't want them going even half speed. Nothing is more uncontrollable than a fast pick up with the back doing the boogie woogie. Just sayin, but I do agree, it is annying.

2. I'm a safe driver and I hate 'em!
I don't speed in areas where speed bumps are necessary anyhow. (residential areas, parking lots, etc.)

Followup: I'm one of those "creepers". My tires, suspension, and undercarraige are more important than you getting to the mall four seconds earlier. Deal with it.

7. It's not about saving time...
It's about having a driving agenda.

5. If a suspension can't handle a wimpy speedbump
then your car blows! My grandma can go over bumps in her wheelchair faster than the "creepers". Live a little!

8. Wanna race? ; ^ )
Every big bump affects your suspension, alignment, and the balance of your tires. It's miniscule for the most part, but if I can put off getting work done on my car until later, I'll do it. Additionally, a car with better alignment and wheel balance gets better gas mileage and causes less fuel waste.

11. Hey, if I could afford a Hummer,
I'd buy two GOOD vehicles instead. I can't wait to start seeing them break down.

14. Hell, those are the people I see....
pulling a granny maneuver over the speed-bumps the most often.

9. RIT uses elevated crosswalks
supposedly so that the presence of a crosswalk is very obvious to the driver and forces him to slow down but not as slow as a speed bump.

on the flip side, if you were crossing, the car would fly in the air and just hit you higher on your body. People who hate their cars love to take them at full speed and get in the air.
