Lingerie Parties Turning Out To Be Big Business

LINGERIE parties - those cheeky gatherings for the girls - are being eyed by big business.

Leading lingerie party plan operator UnderCoverWear debuts on the Australian stock exchange today. Already its shares are as hot as some of its garments.

When 50c shares were first offered in May, the offer closed in less than a week after it was heavily over-subscribed.

UnderCoverWear international marketing manager Patti Handford, who started selling lingerie at parties 20 years ago, can see why the company appeals.

"Lingerie parties are a great excuse to get the girls together," she said.

1. And candle parties and sex-toy parties...
and jewelery parties.

Seems to be the common theme of ladies night is what drives the concepts. My wife makes inexpensive custom bracelets, necklaces, and earrings, and has switched to doing parties. They do really well...

2. Lingerie party - fun
My sister hosted a party and my wife went to it. She said it was like a bridal shower where all the girls looked at sexy lingerie. They did not have a model trying stuff on though. If they did, my brother-in-law and I would have dressed in drag and snuck in.

My wife bought a few things, so I was pretty happy.

3. The only things I'll go to anymore...
Those and the sex toy parties. I get so many invitations to candle parties, scrapbook parties, tupperware, kitchen products, etc. that I just don't bother anymore. Their f*cking dull and you can only say "oh and ah" so many times at burping plastic bowls (and I'm not a mindless drone), but the sex ones are fun. :D
