What really cheesy songs do you HAVE to dance to?
This came into my head last night, when David Bowie's TVC15 came on the radio and got me bopping along like a madwoman. Now, I wouldn't call most of Bowie's music cheesy, but I think TVC15 qualifies - bouncy and meaningless. It got me thinking about other songs which I'd be horribly embarrassed to be caught dancing to, but which always get me bopping nonetheless.

So here's my (partial) list of cheesy songs that just FORCE me to dance:

Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Relax
Alannah Myles, Black Velvet
Village People, YMCA (just TRY not to dance to that)
Hot Chocolate, You Sexy Thing

What are yours?

The Alannah Myles song in particular has a story attached to it for me, involving me getting up and dancing in a lesbian club, and turning around to suddenly discover that I'd collected a very large, very admiring audience, who were all but throwing me their panties. That memory still makes me grin from ear to ear.

1. "Superman"
"If I go crazy then will you still call me Superman?
If I'm alive and well, will be there, holdin' my hand
I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman
My aching Kryptonite..."

By law all Ohioans are required to strut their stuff when a fat man plays the chicken dance on the accordian.

9. Oooh, I forgot that one!

That one's a favorite of mine (to dance to!) also.

Also Billy Idol's Dancing By Myself, but I'm not sure that quite fulfills the criterion of cheesiness.

Oh, and Lady Marmalade! How can you NOT dance to "voulez-vous couchez avec moi"?
