2. You obviously forgot Roger Keith Barrett
aka Syd...but that's neither here nor there.
As far as musicianship, Gilmour by far. he's the one that brought them back around to doing rock & roll after Floyd did some exerimental free-floating for a few albums. Waters, on the other hand, was by far the best lyricist and conceptualist.

5. That may be a bit harsh

But, as a guitarist with 30 years worth of experience, I have to agree that Gilmour is one of the underappreciated heroes of the electric guitar. I'm not sure how he stands up against Waters, but I know he blows Eric Clapton's sorry butt out the door.

That's harsh. I like Clapton and Gilmore. Clapton's solo in Waters' "Pros and cons of hitchhiking" is a pretty damn good solo. When the string hits the fret at the right time is pretty cool.

6. Musician?

Gilmour can play an instrument much better than Waters can, and even Roger would admit that point. I'm sure Gilmour can improvise a kick ass jam session with little trouble.

Musically, they both have their strong points, I think it may come more naturally to Gilmour, but Waters can be more powerful thematicly.

In combonation with each other, where they work off of each other and the egos are put away, they are the best!

Unfortunatly, that hasn't happened since "Wish You Were Here."

7. Gilmore is the brain, Waters is the soul
And though both are decent apart, they were only brilliant together.

Though Gilmore was better on his own.
