I'm in shock, my bestest friend just came out to me |
|
as being bi. Jaw drops at that point because she seems soooo normal(but I guess most GLBT folks are, I've just never met one before). I guess it's just a little surprising because you think you know almost everything about someone and then you feel like you don't. She also told me that she was sorry for waiting so long to tell me because she was afraid that I'd "ditch her" as my friend. I laughed at that one, told her that I'm sooooo okay with it, and that it doesn't affect my opinion of her at all. I actually think more of her for it because she's strong enough to be truthful about it.
Unfortuately for her, admitting all this to me instantly made her the person that I used to talk about my own sexuality issues. I know (as a guy) that I'm attracted to girls. I'm certain of that (sidebar: god Jena Malone, Keira Knightly, and Deborah Messing are sooo hot). However I've also quite recently been attracted to guys, but I've been trying to dismiss it as something else. It's really been clouding my mind for awhile. She was supportive(after her jaw dropped) and told me she went through the same thing and told me she'd be there for me and to try not to worry that much about it. That meant a lot to me. Anyways, I guess the whole thing has made her and I even closer.

Is bisexual. We lean one way or another for a myriad of reasons, some biological, some cultural and some we can't explain.

She's great in the role of Mary. In fact the whole cast is great, even Mandy Moore isn't that bad.

I LOVE that squirrel picture! How cute! I have them that hang out here with me. I've decided when I come back(after death) I wanna be a squirrel. They seem to have so much fun!

I'm from Columbia. Now living in Los Angeles. Welcome to the forum. But do yourself a favor, get out of SC. It's no place for dems.

Charleston is pretty cool. Columbia isn't that bad either. Otherwise--the whole state is a big fuckin' right-wing "party". And SC Dem? I'm glad that you've got a friend that you feel comfortable with in discussing your sexual feelings/preferences with. And you should be pretty proud that she felt comfortable enough with you that she felt free to come out to you. I think that sexuality is far more fluid than most folks are willing to admit. But we've been so beat up in this country by right-wingers and their narrow minded views that it's been drilled into our heads that these feelings are wrong when I think it's probably far more common than most people are willing to admit.

Anyway, good for her, and for you! Good luck with your newfound sexual orientation. I'm glad you were able to disclose to somebody.

I wouldn't quite call myself bi quite yet. But I'll admit that I'm questioning for sure. It's a biggggg mess at this point.

do not let yourself feel guilty about this: i'm a 55 yo white guy. was goodlooking when i was younger & dated quite a few woman, mostly responsibly. been hit on by guys but never felt any chemistry. still, i've always been curious & have had fantasies. most honest guys will admit it.
if i'd ever felt a chemistry w/ another guy, i probably wd have gone for it. if you've got a special crush, & you know he's gay or bi, then go for it. not a goddamn thing wrong w/it.
go w/your heart
