INCREDIBLE!
Not as incredible as Floyd later proved to be, or even as incredible as Genesis proved to be in 1984 or so with their "MAMA" tour, but bloody damned incredible just the same.

Up in Bethel, NY, back in the late '60s. Intimate little affair. I remember they were a bit short on refreshments, though...;-)

Hollywood Bowl, my whole football team went after winning the Intramural championship for Elementary school level. Pretty trippy scene for fifth graders. It was kind of like Ed Sullivan; I dimly remember plate twirlers.Stevei Wonder was "little" Steveie Wonder then and played "Fingertips". Dick Dale Just kicked Ass, I already had one of his albums.

First "rock" concert.
I was kidnapped and taken to a Shaun Cassidy concert when I was like 9 or 10. But that doesn't count.

23. Ozark music festival 1974 |
|
Three days of pure madness, estimates ran to 100,000 to 300,000 people in attendance. I was just short of my seventeenth birthday, damn it was fantastic. I remember seeing the Eagles, but nobody else, being under the influence of various substances at the time.

They held it at the Missouri state fairgrounds in Sedalia, they told little white lies, like it was going to be a bluegrass festival. There was plenty of grass, I didn't see any blue though, there was open selling of every drug that existed, people were walking around with signs advertising their wares. There were people walking around nude, it was hotter than hell, one fatality, one birth. I bought a toke off of a homemade bong, it was made from bamboo, and used a flower pot for a bowl, six foot long and four inches around. I bought balloons full of nitrous oxide, layed in the street laughing. There's never been another one like it, and I doubt there ever will be.
