3. Where can i get a cuppa that joe?
Hey, Fahrenheit 9/11 has grossed so far 22 million over the weekend. This means that it is more then 2/3 of the way to making a profit by my arbitrary amount-6 mil to make, 10 mil to distro, double that for the profit taken by theaters etc for 32 mil. And all this at only 800+ theaters. I really wonder how many screens. Cinemark in College Station only showed it at one screen, and it seems that is common around the country.

6. awwwww
Maybe a kind and technologically savvy DUer can get some clips off the Net burned for you (my machine is too old and slow to do so, unfortunately). I am sure you will get to see it soon, somehow! :donut:

7. you bet
I picked up "Decoration Day" the other day and thought about my old DU music bud who urged me to get acquainted with the DBT. :donut:

Now I am going to have to comb used record stores to find a mono copy of Sgt. Pepper's. That must be rare though!

Always good to see an old-timer.

11. Well, you can find the mono CD pretty easily...

Dont pay more than $60-75 bucks for the vinyl though.

For me, it is worth the effort to get the LP...
I traded some old stuff for a fine $60 copy w/ inserts...I must say it was worth it- one of my best records...The comparison is very obvious...I have almost all of the Beatles in both stereo & mono-and I do prefer the mono...

I've been seeking out MONO records recently, and I've found that old Brian Jones era Stones stuff is pretty easy to get- and that old London records Vinyl can really be trashed, but still sounds great, so most record dealers price it very cheap (under $15 bucks) based on looks...

The same goes for the old Columbia vinyl (Dylan, Johnny Cash, Byrds, etc)- even with scratches, they stll play very well...The stuff has DEEP grooves and was built to last...

I bought some old Mono Dylan & Cash records in the discount bins that were by all appearances "trashed"- yet they played with minimal background noise- no skips or tics...

At some point in the 70's, the greedheads started printing cheap ass vinyl so people would have to replace their reocrds more often- the exact opposite- they can look mint, but sound scratchy & terrible.

Those Bob Dylan re-issues in mono are pretty swank (and affordable) as well...)

My latest quest is a MONO copy of the 1st Pink Floyd LP on columbia...
that one is going to be costly...YES I am sick!!!

Sick is good.

Thanks for all the info. I still have some old Beatles on vinyl that belonged to my aunt when she was a teen, but it was all pre-Rubber Soul, and in stereo, but great stuff nonetheless!

18. I'm just using the $1000 in repair allowance!
My roofing guy only charged me $350 to fix the roof and $25 to lop off some tree limbs that were rubbing on the roof. So, that leaves me $625 to fix the interior drywall. I bet the actual charges will be less, leaving me a small party fund!

After that, there's no real need for repair. It'll just be cosmetics like drapes and accessories - you know, guy stuff. :D
