"Clinton's book should be put in the fiction section."
No, this is not a personal opinion. This is something I overheard today.

So I'm at this new Borders in no other place but Southern California - or at least I believe it was new, new to me. Anyways, my mom dropped me off and me being me, I would take about two hours in there. After browsing through the music (way overpriced), the history and poltical science sections, I sat down to read through a Civil War book I was planning on purchasing when I overheard this conversation between two young men who were employees at Borders.
"Hey Newt Gingrich wrote a book?" one of them asked. When he said this, I though he'd come back with something witty like 'I didn't think the man could write!'. But that's my fantasy of a perfect world that would never begin in Orange County.
"Where should I put Clinton's book?" the other asked with a stack of new Clinton books.
"Clinton's book should be put in the fiction section." the first one replied. He then went on to imitate Clinton. "'I did not have relations with this piece of literature. I did not write it.'"
And he goes on for about five minutes. Thank god I can at least control my anger a tiny bit, or he'd be in the hospital.

No matter how many times it slaps me in the face I still can't believe things like this. And it's horrible to see two young lives that have gone so astray.

:grr:

1. Then Rush and Hannity's books should be in the fantasy section
Gingrich has written books but mostly on the civil war I think. Gingrich should write a book called Hypocrite: How I had an affair before Clinton knew, did, and after Monica"

8. I think he wrote an alternative history
what if the south won gettysburg or the war in general. You know the sick thing is that Newt isn't really from the south, he's from Pennsylvania, I bet hes just fantiazing. If I am gonna read about Gettysburg, I'd read the Sharra, "The Killer Angels" I found out yesterday that his middle intial was L, I think it stands for Lizard.

13. Gettysburg
was a what if book. It was a fun read. Check it out of the library if you're interested in the Civil War. It's too overpriced to buy, but aren't all books today?

Anyway, Gettysburg sets up the scenario that Lee follows Longstreet's advice and steps to the right on Day Two of Gettysburg and gets between AOP and Washington, and even occupies the vaunted Pipes Creek Line.

The scenario is wildly optimistic for the south and asks the question, "What if" everything went right for Lee.

The answer is interesting, at least to me.

(About to ruin ending so stop reading now if may read book later)

Even if the AOP is completely destroyed by a perfect storm of Lee's brilliance and Meade's bungling, 30,000 men still retreat in form, Lee is still down to 40,000 after leaving men to help the wounded and parole the prisoners. Lee's in no shape to test Washington's defenses, and Grant is called for to collect the flotsom of the AOP and renew the war.

In my opinion, Lee would end up back in Virginia anyway waiting for the AOP's next stab.

It was a fun read. I've got an order out for Grant Comes East on interlibrary loan as my library won't get it.

16. I thought it was alternative history which is interesting
On another note reading Kerry's bio I found we have the favorite book, Flags of Our Fathers, I wonder if Kerry being part Czech admires my relative and character in teh book Mike Strank as well, that wuld be neat. Kerry also likes Ambrose, as do I.

17. Awesome! I might just have to read it!
Just have to cover up Gingrich's name, and if there's a picture, cover that up too. :P

19. thats why you get the paperback
:D not only that and its cheaper too. Newt Gingrich needs to write a book with his twin, Slobodan Milosevic.

26. Agreed....same with my father
If family values means divorce, mistreatment of his children, and neglect, I suppose he has them.

5. Okay.
I think that ann Coulter and Sean Hannity and other pro-Bush books should be in the fiction section. Or the trash would be a better place.

6. Yup, this is Southern Orange County
I'm not surprised happened. I think you remember the ever famous homophobe girl i keep bitching about ("You are a homophobe!" "WHAT DID YOU CALL ME!? I'M NOT GAY!). Southern Orange County doesn't surprise me anymore.

Say something witty next time to piss them off. Fighting with idiots is quite fun if you know what to do.

I'd see all sorts of right wing trash. You should really put them in a fantasy section, because flat tax, banning abortion, are just that right wing fantasies.

18. sub section eh
At the school library, I actualyl saw Limbaugh's "I told ya so" or whatever the trash it called. You all hear of that Kyle Williams kid? "Seen and Heard" is his work, the kid is a little younger than me, homeschooled and stuff, wears a tie and stuff, typical young republican.

12. I had a similar experience in Georgia; so, I walked up to one of the
"unenlightened" clerks and asked him if he could set aside 200 of them for a special purchase next week; he said he thought so, then asked me under what name? I replied: oh, that would be for one of Newt Gingrich's well-known history classes on the most influential presidencies ... thanks so much! I could hardly keep from ROTFLMAO
... just a little harmless mischief right back at them ...
