Something I put in my livejournal: Pro-Life=/=Anti-Abortion

Today, I must admit something, and its been very hard for me to come out with this: I am pro-life:

1. I believe that pollution leads to many health problems and that measures must be taken to reduce it.
2. I believe that global warming is a threat to life on this planet and that we must do whatever it takes to prevent an ecological catastrophe.
3. I believe that this nation should have affordable health care for all.
4. I believe that the right to bear arms is not unconditional, and that one is more likely to shoot a family member than an actual criminal.
5. I believe in veganism as a way of respecting animals.
6. I believe that due to fallible criminal proceedings, the temptation of misconduct, racism in America's police force, the costs of appeals, and other factors that render the process unnecessary and even detrimental, the death penalty should be abolished.
7. I believe that due to America's high teenage pregnancy rate and the world population dilemma, abortion should remain an option, if only so another consumer is not brought into an overpopulated world.
8. I believe that outlawing abortion will only lead to back-alley procedures in which many women could DIE from.
