Is it normal for birds to be chirping at 1:30 AM? |
|
I'm just wondering because for the past two nights I've gone into the kitchen and heard birds chirping outside, and I don't ever remember this being...normal. Either that or I haven't been paying attention.

1. They start here about 2 or 2:30 |
|
I notice it because I haven't been sleeping much for the past couple of weeks, and I wondered this too. Maybe it's the time of year? I don't know. Weird, though.

I thought someone was outside my house making noises in hopes of luring me out. But then again, my imagination is overactive.

When I was growing up the birds didn't chirp until early dawn,my rooster didn't crow until 5 am around(he was was alarm clock) No I don't recall birds making much noise at night.
I think it's all the light pollution.Even out of the cities if there is fog or haze the sky is lit up all night.I think all the light pollution is messing their circadian clocks up,just like ours.Humans like birds have poroblems with insomnia and owaaday things are lit up more than ever.I friggin hate artificial lights going on at night myself . I think peopole are skerered too much and don't trust that they can deal with nature and the moonlight..

13. I live in a swamp, 20 miles from the nearest town. They're chirping here. |
|
In the pitch black.
Sometimes, you can tell it's a fluster 'cause of a predator. Sometimes, I bet it's just that they get a bit randy in the middle of the night, ya know.

3. It's normal for Southern California. I lived in L.A. for over 20 years, |
|
and often heard birds singing at night. Nightingales, maybe?

7. My Gran use to have a Rooster |
|
He would crow at 3:00am every morning.
I would prefer to hear birds chirping then aa rooster crowing any day.
I don't think that it's normal but I can bet that it has something to do with global warming.
