2. Football
Some may saw it moves too slow or there's not enough games in a season, but I think that's what makes football so great. Every game is an event.

3. As a fantasy football junkie, I have to go w/ football...
I love being in a sports bar on a Sunday in the fall watching about 10 games at once...

Mmmmmmmmmmmm...non-existant attention span...

18. right, but I originally asked for "favorite"
so even if you don't like it, it would still be the best of the choices

given that, I'm sure you could use other to voice none

14. I debated putting curling in there
but I wanted room for "other", and it's not really a "pro" sport.

fun game, played juniors back in high school. We have a club, I really should get a rink together this winter for league play.

And yes, I am feeling mighty bad about the death of Darryl Russell, yesterday. He was a good guy and left a family.

I watched Darrell Russell's wreck live last night. How sad.

19. I agree.
I did not see the wreck, but the description sounds like a catastrophic structural failure. I sure hope they can find out what caused it, so they can make sure something like this never happens again.

Joe Amato must be devastated. Joe is such an emotional guy.

21. Something made the one of the rear tires blow out.
That caused the rear deck to break free and disintegrate while simultaneously making the car shoot to the left and into the wall. Very scary, although I have seen wrecks that look worse where the driver walks away.

23. Oh man...
Talk about your "Golden BB". To have a tire catastrophically equalize at 330 mph is bad enough, but then to have the rear wing go away, with the cocommitent loss of downforce, or radical shift of the angle of that force is just to ugly to contemplate.

Damn...It's always one of the good guys. Never the pricks.

Edited on Mon Jun-28-04 03:54 PM by ribofunk
although I've lost some interest in it since the Capitals started sinking like a rock. Given the right matchup, boxing's pretty good too.

Barring that, I'm addicted to the NFL.

24. Formula One
There's nothing quite like the scream of 20 900hp 3.0 V-10s at 18,000 rpm.

Second is (American) Football, although I am Chiefs fan :( I did attend two playoff games that they actually won though, (honest!)

Edited on Mon Jun-28-04 04:34 PM by GoneOffShore
I'll bother to watch is bicycle racing. I'm hoping to see Lance Armstrong take his SIXTH Tour de France title.
But even if he doesn't win, it's still going to be the premier event of the year. Bicycle racers make just about every other 'professional athlete' look like pikers. Try doing a one day race in high humidity, high tempurature and climbing 1:6 hills. Two hours on a football field is a vacation.

29. Can I vote none?
Actually, I have nothing against sports, but I'd much rather see my daughter play basketball or my son play baseball than any professional. I've never been much of a team sport person myself (I'd rather go on a long hike up a mountain or in some way challenge myself than play a sport with other people), so I suppose it's hard for me to understand the whole appeal of sitting there watching them on TV. Maybe I've just ODed on them in my personal life of feeling them forced upon my eyes (and being a jerk if I don't keep the sportswatcher company). Not sure.
