I liked that single "Why Georgia?" but I haven't liked anything else I've heard from him since. He's a decent musician but rather pedestrian and totally lacking the cajones dept.

I think that he's very talented. But I like the mellower stuff. I've always liked his flavor of music. He did a fabulous Crossroads with Brad Paisley. My tastes are very ecclectic. It's just a taste thing, I guess.

and appears to have some blues chops. Hell, he played with Buddy Guy. Not bad for a youngster. Granted he's no Stevie Ray Vaughn or (insert name of repected blues person here), but.

Actually, he kind of reminds me of Michael Franks. Take that as you will.

I was channel-surfing one evening and happened upon Mayer playing with country star Brad Paisley on CMT. Paisley did a better job on Mayer's songs than their composer. I find Mayer's voice to be terribly boring and airy.
