Anyone else use Opera internet browser?
V.7.51

Just DL'd it and seems pretty cool.

Pop-up blocker works so far.

IE6 kept getting hijacked and I was also losing the pop-up war.

What about Mozilla?

1. howdy!
i use opera and am in LOVE with it. i got v7.11. it rocks! the best part is the cool "show image" option. with one click, i can block all gruesome images. or display them again. groovy!
mozilla's supposed to be the "IN" thing these days though. but Opera, thy day cometh sooneth!
errr...

3. I'm in love too!
All those hundreds of hours wasted using Internet Exploder.

Many hours will lie ahead checking out all the tools on this thing. The "skin" is already changed to a cool green Emerald with Reflections.

Go opera!

2. been using mozzila for over a year
Gotta say its been a great year!

Not only are pop ups almost non existent but tabed browsing is a thing of beauty. Add to that the great spam filter in the email client and you have a nice Internet package that keeps you free of annoyances and adds functionality at the same time.

Have not tried opera mostly because I dig the open source concept of mozzila and it has been a pleasure to use.

4. I will load up Mozilla too.
Sounds pretty good on their website. I remember their email program that came with Netscape years ago. Good to see their still around.

16. I Use Mozilla Firefox 0.9 !!!!!!!

You should try Mozilla Firefox 0.9, this thing kicks ass. I just downloaded it about 2 weeks ago and I love it. It's only a 4.7MB file too.

It has a built in pop up blocker that so far has worked perfect. A password manager, tabbed browsing, real good security that is way better than IE 6.0 and a lot more. It's sort of like Netscape and IE 6.0 but better. It has bookmarks that you can import in the installation process, extensions you can download etc.

I was a Netscape user, I also used IE 6.0, now I only use Mozilla Firefox.

You can check it out here:

6. I love the Opera browser.
And as professor_pot mentioned, I also really like the "one touch" 'show pictures' button. No pop-ups, and I think it loads pages faster than IE or Netscape.

7. opera is great!

(using it right now, in fact!) In combination with Privoxy to
kill ads, it makes browsing really pleasant.

Just too bad about those e-commerce sites that are heavily ActiveX'ed and "only works with IE". They'll just have to do without my patronage.

This is the addy when it loads...

<http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/>

It imports things like address books and bookmark lists a lot easier than Opera, I think.

Here is a screenshot from their homepage...

9. I do
I've been using Opera since version 6.04, and it's just great :) The only drawback is that once you get used to navigate via mouse gestures, the Windows Explorer seems utterly inefficient ;)

12. Been using it since v3.1...
and I love it. Haven't installed 7.51 yet-- still on 7.50 till I get around to it. Each version comes out with more good stuff, and the keyboard commands alone make it worth it. Fastest page loading of any of them. I don't use them, but the mail and news clients are good and Opera is a perfectly decent all-in-one app. Opera was the first with tabbed windows, and for that alone I will always love them.

Got to be careful with Java, though. A few pages use bizarre code that Opera chokes on, and there are still a few secure sites that insist on IE or Netscrap even though I set it up to identify as Netscrap. I keep copies of both of them just in case. And there's that nasty Active-X, but few sites I actually want to visit insist on it.

Got the latest Firefox and Mozilla releases, and they are fast catching up to Opera, and some things they even do better. But not everything.

It's a personal choice between Opera and Mozilla, since they seem pretty equal after you add up all the features. If you're not bothered by the little ad, price doesn't come into it. Both of them are more secure than IE, and you don't need all those add-ons to make them work.

13. Been using it for years....
.... and I love it. I still occassionally run across a page that won't render, but that is pretty rare nowadays.

Anyone who likes to have 20-30 pages open at once should get Opera. You'll never miss IE, that I promise ya :)

14. 20-30 pages?
Somehow, I did something that opened every bookmark a while back.

Quite exciting watching all those windows open. Couldn't see much, but it was exciting.

15. I have 36...
... open right now.

Yes, you can "Open" a folder in your Bookmarks and it will open every bookmark in that folder.

There are so many user interface innovations in Opera, I could go on for hours. Mouse gestures are amazing. The ability to customize (put whatever you want whereever you want it) is great.

The only downside I can think of is that if you want to have 30 open browser windows you'd better have a lot of RAM because it does eat up the memory. But that would be expected.

17. Of Course
Now and then I go back to Microsoft's browser simply to remind myself why I use Opera. MS is unbelievably slow and I am inundated with pop-ups when I use it. I truly can't understand why anyone would stick with it. Opera is so superior on so many levels that it should be the browser of choice. Wish all sites supported Opera; my on-line bank just came around so now I have no practical reason to even have any browser save Opera on my machine.

18. I hate IE, Yahoo, and MSN
I like and use netscape, if there is something better I'll use it, I use a cable connection and I believe they block all "Pop Ups", anyway I don't have any problems with garbage.

...but then I haven't used it since version 3 or 4. I'm currently running Mozilla Firefox 0.8. and will probably upgrade to 0.9 shortly.

20. I use Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird email program
I am very impressed with both. I don't think I will be going back to IE anytime soon. And just in case a page doesn't load correctly in Firefox there is an extension (free) that you can download to view pages temporarily in IE. I highly suggest using it.
