If the engine is turning over, and the lights, horn and other secondary stuff is working, then you've got problems somewhere in either your fuel system or ignition system. Easy check on your ignition system is to take out a plug, ground out the plug(please observe the gas fume precautions with this, don't want to blow up), crank the car and see if you are getting a spark. If so, then the problem is somewhere in the fuel system most likely, check to see if your timing is correct to make sure.
Fuel problems can be due to clogged filters, uncharged rails(if you have fuel injection), or improper mixture(if you have a carb). Also check your compression, that could be a huge problem.
If your spark plug test doesn't spark up, check out your timing, points, distributor, rotor, plug wires, coil, and plugs.
You can get a good wiring schematic from either a CJ5 shop manual(buy on through Hemmings Motor News, among others), or a Chiltons. Check your library, they might carry the Chiltons you need(ours does). If you are going to be doing a lot of DIY on this car, I would get the official Jeep shop manual. Chilton tends to skimp on some issues, like specs and finer detail.
Good luck, and many miles of happy motoring.
