I haven't had one in ages--when I go out to CO it'll be one of the first things I get my hands on.

Actually -- sesame butter (tahini) and pickles is the best.
But I've had PB and pickles and its really not that bad.

I make my apple butter at home...have a recipe for pumpkin butter? I'm willing to try it. I've never seen it in the store here.

Spiced Pumpkin Butter
Ingredients 4 cups cooked and mashed pumpkin 1 (2-ounce) package powdered pectin 4-1/2 cups sugar 1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice 1/2 tsp unsalted butter
Instructions Place pumpkin in a heavy kettle. Stir in pectin. Place over high heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Stir in sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and butter. Continue stirring and bring to a full rolling boil. Boil hard exactly 4 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir 5 minutes.
Ladle into 1/2 pint hot, sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch head space. Adjust caps according to manufacture's directions. Process 10 minutes in boiling water bath. After cooling, check seals.

Must be on white bread. This concoction would be from the kid next door to me growing up. We ate it all the time. Haven't had that one in awhile, not sure I could do it.

If I bake a loaf of hearty thirded bread (1/3rd cornmeal, 1/3rd rye and 1/3rd whole wheat), I like peanut butter with bananas.
If it's on fluffy white Wonder bread, then make it raspberry jam.
On a table water or other neutral cracker, chocolate chips.
