Man Runs Over Grenade With Lawnmower

A CAIRNS man who twice ran over a live World War II grenade with his lawnmower is thankful he was not blown up.

Clifton Beach resident Dave Norris, 32, was mowing long grass yesterday afternoon at the property he and partner Angela Cotton had just moved to on the weekend when he ran over something solid.

He kicked away the brown lump but later ran over it again.

It wasn't until he picked it up that he discovered what it was.
