Man Shoots At Mexican Boxing Champion - Gets Beat Up

MONTERREY, Mexico (Reuters) - A Mexican boxing champion beat up and hospitalized a gunman who shot at him outside a gym in a crime-plagued city on the U.S. border.

Prosecutors in Ciudad Juarez said a man armed with two pistols shot at light-heavyweight champion Arturo "The Graduate" Rivera as he left the gym early Monday.

Rivera, a stocky brawler with 16 knockouts from a 26-fight career and ranked 98th in the world, fought back with his fists and the attacker was treated in hospital for head injuries.

3. Just goes to prove that guns are NOT gauranteed self defence tools...

And all these people who buy a gun for self defence and then do nothing but take a few practice shots every now and then will probably be in for a rude surprise if they ever actually need it.

Hell, I once heard a stat that said something like 90% of shots fired by POLICE OFFICERS fail to hit their target, and they are TRAINED to use them.

So buying a gun isn't all its cracked up to be by the NRA crowd.
