Man Paid $15k For Dinner With Tony Bennett - But With 116 Other People

Gary Pusateri forked over $15,000 last weekend for what he thought would be the meal of a lifetime.

The retired computer analyst and amateur pianist was the highest bidder at a charity auction held just before Tony Bennett took the stage at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall on Saturday night.

His prize: A post-concert dinner with the legendary singer.

Or so he thought.

But when he arrived at Da Mimmo after the show, Pusateri wasn't seated at Bennett's table - or even on the same floor of the Little Italy restaurant.

Pusateri was just one of 116 people crowded into Da Mimmo that night for a dinner, which along with the concert, raised $250,000 for the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins.
