So my mom is not going to be paralyzed.
I didn't say much about this yesterday or anything because I don't like people to feel sorry for me, but I was a bit of an internal mess. I got a call from my dad in the afternoon telling me that on Monday night my mom had to go in for emergency surgery on her vertebrae and was told she had a 50% chance of being paralyzed (she's only 55 and otherwise in good health). As you can imagine, I was rather in a panic even though my mom and I don't have the best of relationships (but I still love her as she's my mom). Anyway, I visited her today and she's doing very well AND WALKING a little, so the panic is gone anyway. So if anyone happened to notice I was a bit extra forlorn or weird yesterday, that's a big chunk of the reason. Anyhow, thank for letting me write all this business. :) And feel free to pass on any prayers or good Karma because we need it around here.

2. Good news indeed
Glad your Mom is doing better....and will pass on as much good Karma as I can generate.

Love/conflict relationships with parents aren't unusual but take heart, they smooth out over time.

In the meantime, for you:

8. Hugs to You!!!!!
and to your Mom. Perhaps the two of you can talk some about your relationship and see what happens.

I'm a 38 year old woman and believe me there are still times when "I want my Mommie"

11. I'm glad the prognosis is good.
Mums and daughters are a tricky business. Luckily we can love people without their permission, input, inspiration or co-operation.
