Are there in-door wasp/hornet traps?
I've noticed an increase of buzzing insects outside my apartment window, it seems they're hovering from above and likely making a nest up on the roof. Indeed, the last few months I've noticed a few more of Mother Nature's insects finding their way in from outside.

Today I found three large insect things (1.5"?) that looked like thin wasps except they were all black with a metallic blue sheen. Very pretty but very icky to look at. They also have 2 feelers, almost as long as their body. Ditto for their legs, which hang down as they fly. Yuck.

I was cleaning the windows and saw another such creature land on the sill. But it was a black/yellow color, only the hind segment was striped, its wings were actually stylish (must've been gay). Very stylish looking indeed, but their appearance is enough to induce nightmares in just about anybody. I'm assuming they're some form of wasp/hornet but I've never seen them (a) this big or (b) this shape.

Apart from calling the landlady, which I will do, I want to take some pre-emptive action as I've already caught a couple trying to get into my apartment and I'd rather not have any at all... :scared:

Thx!!

1. You might have to resort to chemical warfare
Like Raid Wasp & Hornet.

Smells terrible and is highly toxic but it does the job.

They could hurt you as much as it would hurt them.

Very easy solution. There's a bright yellow trap that sells for $6.99 or $7.99. It comes with wasp bait. Just hang it in your house and the wasps crawl in for the bait but they can't crawl back out. Go to your local hardware store--they'll have them.

3. Kewl, thanks!
I imagine the chemicals would kill my parrot... fish might be safe.

I could care less if I go, but I like my parrot... :-)

4. That doesn't sound too bad.
For wasps and hornets, I like to use a badminton racket. Just close the face a little when you swing. Chops 'em all to hell.
