Any Arizona and Utah residents here? |
|
In a couple of days I'm taking my van camper and heading for the *circle* of national parks in Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. In addition to Zion, Bryce, Grand Canyon, Canyon de Chelly, Arches, and other national parks along that route I'm also gonna do a bit of hiking in the Paria Canyon-Vermillion Cliffs Wilderness. Is there anything in the circle that I might not be aware of that I should add to my list of "places to see and things to do"? I'm also gonna try to make it up to Nine Mile Canyon for the petroglyphs/pictographs. Thanks in advance for any suggestions/ideas you might have.
Peace!! Lee

1. If you are around Flagstaff, take the skilift up and down the Snowbowl. |

Really beautiful. http://www.arizonasnowbowl.com/The Painted Desert at dawn or sunrise is something to see. Just outside of the GC. On edit: I hope you get a chance to see the North Rim of the GC.

I'm leaving the Paria Wilderness area very early so I'll probably pass through there on the way to GC. But because I will be on the Grand Staircase Escalante side of 89, the North Rim will have to wait for another time. I had initially thought I'd go there, but then I found out about Paria Canyon and Escalante and changed my plans.
After the GC I'm going to Sedona for 3 or 4 days so I can catch the Snowbowl then. Great suggestions, thank you! :-)
