Why Colin Quinn's tough crowd failed |
|
#1. Colin Quinn has never or will ever be funny. He wasn't funny the first time I saw at the Cam Neely benefit. He wasn't funny on SNL. So why in the hell do people consider him a comedian.
#2. The host of a current events show must have some concept of hiostory, deep thought and conflicting ideas. Colin or his guest(with the exception of Jon Stewert, Lewis Black or George Carlin) have no concept of any of the said items.
#3. The humorus current events debate show should be humorus. Bill Mayer's show "Politicly Incorrect" was insightful, funny, dramatic, adventorus and great to watch. PI's show was made up of five people a comedian, a writer, Left leaning advocate, Right leaning advocate and a celebrity to put a diferent view on the subject. TC is made up of five comedians(three hacks and two apathetic lounge lizards) that try to take the subject matter and transition it too their club material, so it doesn't make any sense and ends up not being funny. When the four "informed" guest on PI all come to conclusions the "fifth wheel" chimes in with a humorus conclusion, something not taken into account or a completly different view. So Larry Flynt on PI is funnier than all five comedians on TC.
#4. Appealing to morons will not bring up your ratings. Colin Quinn's "Tough Crowd" was like "Politicly Incorrect" for people who've had lobotomy's. All five of his guest all agreed with Colin on the issues they were discussing making the show too boring and too simple minded.

Is TOUGH CROWD gone for good or is it just on hiatus while they try out CB?

6. God I HATE that show!! |
|
We noticed Jon has stopped promo-ing it at the end of his show. Anyone else notice this? He used to always say, "Quinn's up next" or something like that.
We've got TDS set up on our TiVo as a repeating event (season pass) and we always end up getting the first few minutes of TC. I used to like Quinn until he displayed his ignorance and his political views on TDS. He really sucks.

Bill Maher is not funny. He is a smug, condescending asshole that needs to be slapped in the mouth.

He's hilarious. Crude, offensive, and not sympathetic toward anyone.
He skewers both the left and right (especially the right). And is great at doing it.
Can't wait until July 30, when his show returns.

13. It Just Wasn't FUNNY! |
|
Not that Improv can't be systerically good (see Whose Line Is It Anyway? sometime!) but Tough crowd was just a mediocre argument with one or two one liners slapped down like dead fish.
Whose line is just about the funniest thing going. Daily Show is wonderful. Shows that sink to the lowest common denominator "Oh GEE, look how crude and heavy handed I can be! Hyuk! Hyuk!" like Insomniac, the Man Show, Tough Crowd, just annoy me.
Know what we need?
LAUGH-IN!!
Imagine Laugh-In taking on Shrubya! Wow!

14. Colin Quinn's a f-ing idiot |
|
I watched his show a few times a few weeks ago, and it was utterly appalling. Lacking in humor, but especially lacking in taste. Sometimes I can handle rightwing humor, but Colin is just in poor taste. Of the "let's be controversially shocking just to be shocking, not to further any kind of actual point" variety. Nothing more than stand-up (sic) Limbaugh.
Pure crap. I found his show completely offensive and ignorant.
