Now that we aren't "published" on the home page list every time we start a thread- even for a few minutes- we will have to make our posts and topics even better. I see the "nominate this article for the Home Page" link under each thread. How many nominations or votes will it take? Do the Mods decide? Tell us more, please.

it has a focus now.
But the list of recommended discussions at the bottom center needs a Header. It's not self-evident to a new user that these are discussion threads and you can go read/post in them.
