Simpson's buffs!!! Help Needed....
A friend of mine says that the Simpsons did not air first on the Tracey Ullman show, rather it aired on the show "the Great Space Coaster" before the Tracey Ullma show.

Anyone able to verify/refute this?

Much thanks...

1. You're right!

The Simpsons first appeared as short "bumpers" on the Tracey Ullman show.

4. Yes, you are right
The Great Space Coaster was a very-early 80's weekday afternoon kids show. No way were the Simpsons ever on it (even though it was a good show- anybody remember Gary Gnu?).

5. From the official Simpsons site ...
"Originally brought to life in 1987 for FOX's Emmy Award-winning series The Tracey Ullman Show, The Simpsons was Groening's introduction into the animation world."

8. I have to agree.....
Simpsons is from Ullman.

I can't picture Space Ghost having them on.

BTW. If anyone's ever down for some Simpson's trivia, let me know.

9. Homer Simpson would make a great SGC2C guest!
Could there be two more clueless characters. I am not familiar with the show "Space Coaster" though.

10. Definitely the Tracey Ullman show
Not only had I heard it before, but I just saw it again on "I Love the 80's" the other night. It was the 1987 edition, and they said that the Simpsons debuted on the Tracey Ullman show during their segment on the introduction of the FOX network.

11. It was at first a segment on "The Tracey Ullman Show."
Then got its own series. I used to work with FOX Network, so I remember when it premiered.

14. That's pretty obvious from the show...
They slander repubs something fierce on that show, but in such a subtle way, the vast majority of freepers would never even get it.

good to see that he back up his mouth with his money though...:)

15. not certain, but...
your friend may have been referring to an animated short that was done from the "Life in Hell" series that he did before the Simpsons. Just a thought...
