fave anime?
my picks:

inuyasha, series

grave of the fireflies, movie

runners-up: nazca, shaman king,

love hina (not REALLY - love hina ack! gack!)

i would like a consensus on trigun (does it have humor?) and any vampire series that folk rate "good."

what anime do you like?

14. Bebop is the best dub I've ever heard
I actually prefer it to the subtitled version.

9. Amen to that
Rumor has it that Cartoon Network is negotiating with the creators for another season's worth of episodes. I'm not getting my hopes up, but...

15. Ermmm
I dunno if I misread your post, but it'll be a while until the creator is free, since he's doing a project called Samurai Champloo right now (actually the manga is probably done, but the animated series is coming out right now, they're on Episode 6). So it'll be a long while before anything new Bebop related comes out, if ever.

2. Trigun is good
It's a solid B+ anime with some A moments, and yes it does have humor.

5. Trigun is full of humor.
It's a very funny series at times. It's also a great series in general.

My six year old makes me TiVo Inuyasha so we can watch it when she wakes up the next day.

I love the Princess Mononoke and Metropolis movies.

I got into FLCL after seeing all 6 episodes twice. First time through, I couldn't get a lot of it. Second time through, I picked up stuff I missed the first time!

I like Cowboy BeeBop, especially the Ed centered episodes

I liked the 2nd season of Big O, but haven't figured it all out yet!

19. I love Evangelion
I never thought serious religious discussion could be provided by means of giant ass mecha, but wow, did Eva change that...
It's easily the best anime of all time, IMO. Have you seen "The End Of Evangelion"? Do not see that if you are depressed, as you are likely to commit suicide after viewing it. Spectacular, but fuckin' a, what a downer..

11. It counts as anime
Anime is just the Japanese borrowed from French borrowed from English borrowed from whatever root term for animation. So all Japanese animation is technically anime. Of course, to be accurate, in Japan, Disney and Pixar are anime.

Although I hold a special place in my heart for "Nausicaa and The Valley of The Wind", my first real anime experience.

13. Oooh...FLCL
Forgot about that one. Might have to reconsider my Bebop vote. FLCL is probably the greatest combination of animation and music so far.

There are only two series that drove me to buy soundtrack CDs; and I listen to the FLCL ones more...

12. I'm not much of an anime fan
so I've only seen the one's that my anime-obsessed friend has shown me:

#1 Akira
#2 Ghost in the Shell

There was another one that used to come on MTVs "Liquid Television" about a private eye, but I can't remember what it was called.

And Legend of the Overfiend was pretty cool, in a nasty sort of way.

16. well
, I'm somehow no longer into it. But I used to like Evangelion (the first half). Also Bebop, Seikai no Monshou (... of the Stars), Witch Hunter Robin and Hellsing.

As to Vampire Anime: Hellsing was pretty entertaining. The Miyu OVA was interesting; I have never watched the series.
