Man Accidently Runs Over, Kills Sleeping Woman

A Minneapolis man leaving his apartment building Wednesday morning for a weekly breakfast date accidentally drove over a sleeping woman, killing her, authorities said.

Charles Johnson, 67, planned to meet a friend at White Castle for their regular breakfast date. But as he pulled out of his parking lot in the 600 block of 22nd Av. NE. just after 4:30 a.m., Johnson heard a thump.

When he got out and saw a woman under his car, he called 911 immediately.

Janice Bradley, 41, died there.

Tests revealed that Johnson had no alcohol in his body at the time of the accident, said Lt. Jeff Rugel of Minneapolis traffic police. Investigators believe Bradley's death was accidental, and they don't anticipate any charges against Johnson, Rugel said.
