whether you live in Portland, or somewhere real. Them city folks (i.e. faux-oregoneans) puts too many syllables in it. Out in the sticks we makes it indistinguishable from "organ".

When I lived in Eugene 30 years ago you could get decals for your car's back window that said "Orygun". At that time Eugene was being inundated with Easterners who said "Or-a-gahn" (I was one of them). Although I never actually heard the "ee" sound of the Y in anyone's pronunciation. More like "Or-uh-gun".
