Was it 40'? Is that too far? I wasn't very good. Shot put has got to be the least sexy event of all time.
I got under 55 sec on the 440 and got a 10.5 in the 100 (yds Indiana is stubborn). But I never really felt comfortable in a sport unless I was abusing somoene physically. Makes me an interesting golfer thiugh.

Yeah, I wasn't that great either. I thought it was fun though. Best I ever threw was mid 40's, and 118' in disc.
I'll agree that there in no sport less attractive than shot put. Mostly just fat guys grunting and flailing around after they throw.

I was pretty skinny.
I feared the discus, I really thought I was going to kill someone.
My Sophomore year the coach thought I would make a good pole vaulter. Man, I was such a wimp about that. It took me about ten times to really stick it and try going over the bar. But I looked really good running up to the pit.

I had a great time. I was the only female doing the field events exclusively. I got to lift and work out with the guys. Had a blast!
As far as my distances.... that was a long time ago!

Shot, I think my best was something pitiful like 31-32 feet. Guy named Larry MacLean was at my school. He was state champ back in the 70's. Discus was not recognized by the IHSAA back then, but we had one to play around with. I could sling it 110-120 feet.
