I've been watching a Huge forest fire out my front door |
|
since yesterday afternoon. Started at the foot of a mountain about 5 miles due east and this morning it reached the top which is a saddle of about several thousand acres. The flames seem to be hundreds of feet high at times and the sound of all the slurry bombers is like a war. It was started by someone burning trash. At this time it has consumed most of the fuel at the top of the mountain and if the winds don't rise should be soon contained.

and it has been manned with lots of air support since it started yesterday afternoon. It appears now to have spent itself and barring any wind issues should be ready for mop-up soon.
