Help my chocolate addiction! |
|
I am trying to lose weight by exercise and balanced diet.
Looks like I've konked off 4 pounds (with two people already commenting on the inital deflation of my blimp), another 18 and I'll be happy but my uber-goal is 35 off...
And I want to eat chocolate!!!!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
What's chocolate that won't inflate my gut any further?

1. I was able to get over it with some good advice |
|
try to make it to where you save a particular day in the week just for chocolate. You'll get used to not eating it as often and the day you set aside for eating chocolate, you can have as much as you want.

5. Cool, "Fat Free Jell-O Brand Pudding (and laxative)"! |
|
I am so there, fudge chocolate flavor and all! :D
My zoloft induces the big "C", so the laxative will make me regular again, hot diggity! :D :D
Thx!

I'll look and see if I can find a link, but I found them in the brownie mix section of my local Kroger. All you add is lite or fat free vanilla yogurt, spread in a 8X8 pan and bake for 35 minutes at 350. They are so decadent and fudgy, and you can't tell that they're lite. That is how I satisfy my chocolate cravings with much less fat. They come in regular fudge, raspberry, and mocha flavors. I get the plain; I haven't tried the other two varieties yet.

6. A little bit of solid milk chocolate should do the trick |
|
that should take care of the cravings. It's all in your head so just eat enough to get the taste of chocolate in your mouth and you should be fine.
Stay away from candy bars that have other sweet stuff in it like caramel or marshmallows (nuts are okay).
enjoy

8. Dark chocolate is lower in fat |
|
and if you have it with almonds or walnuts you get the added health benfits of them, too.
You just have to train yourself not to eat a TON of it...just a few bites now and then and remind yourself there will always be more when you want it.
I just lost 14 lbs and this saying is really true- Nothing tastes as good and being thin feels!
YOU CAN DO IT!!! I'm rooting for you!

9. OK, here's the scoop... |
|
The wife and I have been making chocolate truffles and butter creams for a number of years, and blending our own from dark and light chocolates, and making the centers and hand dipping them, so I know whereof I speak... That said, in general you want to stay away from white chocolate, and the darker you can stand your chocolate, the less fat and sugar you will ingest. Now, VERY few people can eat straight bakers chocolate(chocolate liquor), but you always have the option of taking a good grade chocolate liquor, and adding just enough sugar to suit your palate. Bittersweet is better than semi-sweet is better than milk chocolate. The less white, the less sugar and fat. We make a variety we call "Triple XXX" which is darker than bittersweet, but some folks just love it! No, I'm NOT trying to get you to buy it from us,we'd have to make up a batch ourselves and we're LAZY this time of year and besides you can likely find your own level of dark/light yourself. It's not the chocolate liquor that makes you fat, just remember that and ENJOY! :hi:

10. Have you ever tried Glutamine? |
|
It goes by either "glutamine" or "L-glutamine." Iget the powder form. You mix a heaping teaspoon in water. It really does help cut chocolate and other sweet cravings. Another thing that can help is chromium. A deficiency of it can cause sugar cravings. I don't eat a lot of "regular" food but was going overboard on dessert stuff. These two supplements have really helped me a lot.

12. I'm working up to severe chocolate withdrawal. |
|
But I'm gonna fight it! It's really difficult but since my cats are on a diet, I'm in solidarity with them.
Good luck, Toad! Just know someone else is struggling along with you.
