1. Well... Complicated answer...
Saccharin can be made from petroleum tars, but it also can be made from coal tar, and in fact, it was originally so made. I'm not sure how the supplier that supplies Sweet-n-Low makes theirs, but since they no longer make "Town Gas" from coal, the supply of cheap coal tar has mostly gone away.

9. Splenda gives me a terrible headache
It's too bad, because I thought it was pretty good. I'm not diabetic, but I had gestational diabetes, so I have to watch my sugar intake because I'm at high risk now for developing it permanently.
