I simply love how everyone in the world is in a state of constant denial...
I simply love how we live in the most sexually advertising society, yet no one is getting any...
I simply love how despite this, we still manage to fuck it up for anyone's chances of getting any...
I simply love how everyone says they want a president like Jimmy Carter, but what they really want is one Adolf Hitler with a Hacksaw...
I simply love how Michael Moore has spelled it all out for us but despite this, idiots will still vote for Bush just 'cause "Golly gee, he seems like such a likeable guy...."
I simply love how in any relationship, yes means no, no means yes, stop means go, black means white, and we get on each other's cases for not understanding what we mean...
I simply love how you can know someone for a time and then once you think you understand them, you watch that person turn into the complete opposite right in front of your eyes...
I simply love how, alarmed by this, you dig yourself in deeper by doing stupid things that you think will bring the old person back...
I simply love how those exact things just make it worse...
I simply love how at a time when we are getting stupider and stupider as a society, we end up cutting the very things that would save us from that stupidity (that's schools if you aren't keen to subtlety...)
Why do I simply love these things? I said it on a thread earlier and I'll say it again I HATE PEOPLE!!!! WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET!!!
OK...Rant over....

1. That was some fine rantin' |

I saw this exact pattern with an ex. In hindsight, up was down, yes was no, stop was go. Then, of course, she changed suddenly. And I played the fool, and did some dumb shit to try to "bring the old person back. And yes, it got worse and all my dumb shit was for naught. And now... she's with an evangelist, creation scientist, Bush-whacking fundie. We saw TOOL together man, tool...twice- while smoking some fine chronic.

2. Love and hate are two sides of a coin. You wouldn't be |

ranting about any of the above if you didn't care so much. You are an intense person and those who are intense suffer disportionately. You are eloquent, insightful and vital, coming across your rant makes my day. :toast:

5. It's just so complicated |

I was about to reply to your other thread but I thought that my stoned ramblings that I had beautifully written wouldn't make sense so I'll be more forward. Unfortunately, as long as you care about people, you will always get hurt. I am redeveloping my strong sense of empathy and in some ways that is a curse. It sucks when you look at things from your point of view and then look at things from their point of view and realize that there is no way that you both can be happy. If you make the one happy who you love, you will be unhappy. If you force your will or make them sacrafice for you, they will be unhappy and you will know that you caused this unhappiness. Then you realize that this will always be the case as long as you love others. I am a big advocate of saying what you mean. If you do not say what you mean, you should be prepared to accept the consequences of people doing what you say. In fact sometimes I don't say what I mean for this reason to let the other person solve the two sided dilemma I just mentioned for me. Maybe this is why we want Hitler, so the choice isn't ours but someone else's. We all have a stressed degenerated side that is the opposite of our good selves and sometimes it can be difficult to escape. Sometimes, we need help but we only drag the other person in and then we are worse off. Sometimes, we cannot save others. Sometimes we did not try hard enough, but sometimes it is really impossible. I don't know about the sex thing. I am considering what has happened in society with that. For my husband and I, we have each other. Alright, maybe I wasn't very forward. My first sentence was forward.
