irritating windows question
After a session on the computer I get this strange little icon on my desktop it looks like a little piece of paper with the right upper corner bent over. The little picture on it kind of looks like a outlook express window. Underneath the icon is the symbol ~
If I right click and try to open I get a box that asks choice of list or internet to find a program to open. Nothing opens it - the internet opsion goes to a page that tells me I don't have authorization.

I just put them in the recycle bin and delete, but WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY????

or some other simple text editor, but that's only going to reveal the code.

run your antivirus, spyware, adaware etc just to be safe,

4. have done all these
it doesn't seem to hurt anything - its just kind of irritating - and I'm not diligent to keep checking to see exactly when it appears...

3. Text Symbol
The icon for non-descript text is the piece of paper with one corner folded over. The tilde ~ says it doesn't have a name.

Some text file is ending up on your desktop. I suspect you've got some "baggage" in your browser. If you are using Internet Explorer, here's how to delete the baggage: In the Tools menu, open Internet Options.... In the General tab, in the Temporary Internet files section, click on Delete Files.

You will lose your cookies.

Windoze has caused me to lose my cookies more than once... How typical.

Seriously, I'm defragmenting my hard drive... I started the process at around midnight. It is now 9:16 AM. I'm 81% completed. :boring:

I think I had a few scattered files, eh?
Maybe I'll just :argh:

7. It's harmless
just drag it to your recycle bin. I get it sometimes when I spellcheck an e-mail.
