Poll question: Let's have a battle of the South Louisiana fish fry (plus lagniappe)
For those who wouldn't know - "lagniappe" means "a little something extra" (pronounced lan-yap, more or less)...

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...

please note: there is no such critter as a "crayfish" - it's CRAW-fish, or mudbugs. Thank you.

And sorry, Midwest, this is our payback for putting up with the skeeters and all that crap that you dump in the Missippi, the crap that ends up in our drinking water.

LAISSEZ LES BONS TEMPS ROULER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6. since 1782 on one side of the family, 1805 on the other.
You know, ma frien', M. Couillon...

* there's only 10 slots for choices in a du poll - so it's not really possible to fit in all Louisiana cuisine, now is it? Ca se choix - "l'autre".

* it's about "FISH FRY" and a copy cat thread poking fun at midwesterners who think a walleye and perch cover the possibilities at a fish fry.

* considering that jambalaya has rice cooked IN and bouillabaisse is served WITH or ON rice, and you seem to lump them together - well, I wonder about you , too. Cher. You gon' bait that line, or you fishin' wit' jus' the flash?

4. "lagniappe" is the name of our place
here on Wolf Bay.
There was a sign on the boathouse when we moved in and I liked it and left it there.
Miz t. is Cajun, so I claim Cajun-by-marriage.
Our daughter is, of course, only half Coon Ass.
